Ilmajoki Luomankylä

Ilmajoki Luomankylä is located about five kilometers from the center of Ilmajoki, between Ilmajoki and Koskenkorva. 20 minutes from the village to Seinäjoki, 15 minutes to Kurikka, 50 minutes to Vaasa, 30 minutes to the airport. The bus stop is right at the end of Opistontie. The village starts along Kauppilantie and continues to Nuijapatsaa in the direction of Koskenkorva, in a ribbon-like, kneeling shape, a distance of about six kilometers. There are about 150 households in Luomankylä and plenty of entrepreneurship in various fields. The center and heart of the village is the village school and the campus area of the South Ostrobothnia college. The college offers versatile study and hobby activities. The village is a sparsely populated, safe, renewable and lively rural village.

Special features

Our village is settled by the Kyrönjoki river. The houses are along the roads leading from the river bank. The past is told by the monument of Jaakko Ilkka's home, Jaakko Ilkka was a host in Ilkkala's house from 1585 to 1597, and Perälä's mäkitupa, which is owned by Ilmajoki-Seura ry.

The strengths of the village

Our village has good roads, short and fast driving routes to the third road, the airport and in the direction of Seinäjoki. The village school is very important for our village in many ways. Pupils' physical activity has produced results and provides energy for school work. The parents' committee actively supports school work by organizing camp school activities and assisting with rides, for example. Diverse private entrepreneurship creates work in nearby areas. The strong activity of Etelä-Ostrobothnia College radiates to its surroundings. The college's wonderful milieu offers a setting for various parties and educational events. You can study there with degree goals or in a course format. The college also has international activities and cooperation with Ilmajoki high school studies. The agricultural college on the edge of our village trains students for rural fields. Graduates have the opportunity to find employment in many different fields. In a globalized society, change is fast, the challenges of the times must be followed at the village level. For our part, our goal is to keep Ilmajoki's countryside and sparsely populated area alive.
