The cultural cycling of the seven bridges will be organized in Ilmajoki again on the first Saturday of August, August 3. 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Would you like to ride a bike and enjoy the traditional scenery, visit wonderfully decorated houses and beautiful yards, watch the day milking at the Ala-Foss farm, get to know the museums and the history of the locality, try your luck in the lollipop lottery generator, have a treat, get to know local businesses and tourist attractions? One of Ilmajoki's most popular summer events offers something for everyone.
The cultural cycling of the seven bridges goes around Kyrönjoki in the wonderful landscapes of Ostrobothnia. You can get to know the local culture, interesting places and fascinating stories by bike or even by car. During the day, there are open doors at, for example, farms, museums, old houses and tourism companies. In addition, the guides tell the history related to Jaakko Ilkka at the Ilka monument.
You can go around Kyrönjoki for a good 30 kilometer run or only part of it. Or if you want, you can make a full-length run through Huiss and adventure in several destinations in Koskenkorva. In this case, the length of the route will be a whopping 50 km! Or you can customize your own route and you can go pedaling to destinations that interest you and plan a route that is the right length for you. Departure from the Nikkola bridge or any stop where route maps are distributed. The stopping points are marked on the terrain with balloons.
The event offers experiences for the whole family. There is also a lot of fun for children to see and experience: animals and agricultural machinery, you can relive the time of Jaakko Ilka in the club war arena, or you can watch caramel being made in the village's own candy factory.
There are several stops along the way, where you can stop for coffee, juice and a bun or refuel your energy reserves with delicious burgers. And the journey continues again.
The event is organized by Ilmajoki municipality in cooperation with Kehittämisyhdistys Liiver and participating companies and associations. The event is part of the European Cultural Environment Days
