Vimpel's Lakeaharju fitness ladder and Seinäjoki's Jouppilanvuori experience ladder represent South Ostrobothnia in the national fitness ladder competition. EU rural funding challenges everyone to climb the fitness ladder during the coming summer. By participating, you can help the fitness ladder in your area to win the national competition - and at the same time you will get health benefits in bulk.
On Thursday, May 30, a national fitness stair competition will start, where it will be determined which are the most popular fitness stair lifts in Finland that have received EU rural funding. The competition includes 18 fitness ladders from different parts of Finland, which have received funding through local Leader groups or the ELY center. The stairs have visitor counters throughout the summer, and the stairs that have been climbed the most by the end of September win.
The Joupplianvuori experience stairs are part of the Seinäjoki experience exercise route
For years, Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry has developed the area of Jouppilanvuori and Kyrkösjärvi into a health exercise area suitable for all kinds of users. As part of the adventure movement in 2019, the adventure stairs were built next to the ski slope of Jouppilanvuori. Two stairs rise from the foot of the slope, which merge into one all the way to the top. The stairs comprise a total of 441 steps, while the "straightest" route to the top has 309 steps. Sometimes there are benches for resting and a sheltered canopy with works of art in the middle of the stairs. In addition to the landscapes, you can also admire the young artist on the wall of the viewing ceiling Ville Hautaluoman painted mural.
— We wanted to turn the stairs into versatile experience and activity stairs where citizens of all ages can move. You can also have experiences on the stairs, and the social side is also part of exercise, when together you can think about "the way the world is going", says the executive director of the Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry Hannu Salo.
In Joupiska, the fitness ladder competition opens on Wednesday, June 5. at 10:30 a.m. in connection with Lakeuden's Elämysliikunta talks. Welcome!
The goals of Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry include comprehensive human well-being. Well-being includes a physical, mental, social and aesthetic perspective. Jouppilanvuori opens up a view of Kyrkösjärvi, wide fields and the city center.
EU rural funding support was granted to Lakeaharju's fitness stairs through Leader Aisapari, and to Jouppilanvuori's experience stairs from South Ostrobothnia's ELY center. The visitor counter for Joupiska's experience stairs has been funded by Leader Liiver. Rural funding has already been granted to almost 50 fitness centers in Finland.
