Its heart is the more than hundred-year-old former Harjunm\u00e4ki school, which the village association acquired and renamed K\u00f6nni village hall. The village of Vaivaastenneva can be reached via a three kilometer long birch alley. The landscape of our village varies from the plains of Alajoki to Oksivuori, from the observation tower you can see all the way to Ylistaro church. Our area has a total of 300 inhabitants and an arable area of about 1500 hectares. There is 8 km of good speedway from the village hall to the center of Ilmajoki. The distance to Sein\u00e4joki is 20 km.<\/p><h2>Shared spaces and hobby opportunities<\/h2><p>The village has an active K\u00f6nnin Village Club, which, together with the municipality, community college, parish and 4H association, organizes a variety of activities for the villagers. Various weekly hobby groups operate in the village hall. There is a well-equipped kitchen and the premises are well suited for meeting use. In addition, the village hall hosts various parties, meetings and markets. The village hall is also rented out to people from outside the village for various events. There is a beach volleyball court and a sports field next to the village hall, which is frozen into an ice rink in winter, weather permitting. The villagers also have access to a network of almost 20 km of trails for traditional skiing, which can also be used as a walking trail in the snow-free period.<\/p><h2>Village events<\/h2><p>The village association offers a wide variety of events for villagers throughout the year: depending on the year, e.g. skiing trips, Easter breakfast, <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">theater trips, security guard training and cooking, and a porridge party or Christmas meal before Christmas.<\/span> In the summer, the young people from the village club keep the village kiosk open in Harjunpakka, at the end of Vaivaastenneva. In the summer, we also go cycling every Wednesday to explore some interesting destination as a group.<\/p><h2>Associations operating in the area<\/h2><p>The K\u00f6nni-Kiikeri-Harjunm\u00e4ki area is home to the K\u00f6nni Village Association, the K\u00f6nni Countrymen&#039;s Association and Rural Women&#039;s Association, the Central Local Association, the Kylkisalo Hunting Association, and the Kyr\u00f6njoki branch of SLEY.<\/p><h2>The village&#039;s strengths and opportunities<\/h2><p>The strength of the village is a good team spirit, its own village hall and plenty of hobby activities. Etel\u00e4pohjalaiset Kyl\u00e4t ry awarded the K\u00f6nni village club as the 2017 South Pohja village of the year.<\/p><h2>Special features<\/h2><p>Our village is especially known for the historic K\u00f6nni watchmakers. There is still strong entrepreneurship in the region, both in primary production and in other sectors.<\/p><h2>The most important areas for development<\/h2><p>The most important development target in the village in the coming years is to further improve the equipment level of the village hall and possibly also build new additional premises.
