The village is crossed by highway 18 in the south-north direction and the Sein\u00e4joki-Haapam\u00e4ki railway in the east-west direction, the center of the village is at their intersection. Two rivers flow through the village, Nurmonjoki and Kourasluoma. The scenic Kivij\u00e4rvi is located on the eastern side, with a bird tower and a shelter serving as a resting place for hikers. The area has been renovated into a bird lake. The settlement of the village, approx. 180 households, is spread on both sides of the rivers. There are about 300 inhabitants in the village.<\/p><p>Koura has the world&#039;s largest kick sled factory, which currently employs around 50 people. The village also has a working school and a sports hall. In addition, Koura has a sports field, a tennis court and a chewing track.<\/p><h2>Services<\/h2><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Koura school, mobile library, village shop, city-provided meal service for the elderly, fire, rescue and first-response services provided by VPK.<\/span><\/p><h2>Shared spaces and hobby opportunities<\/h2><p>Koura elementary school, Koura sports field, tennis court, chewing track, Koura gymnasium, gym hall kitchen and school hobby room built as EU projects, and VPK&#039;s fire hall.<\/p><h2>Associations operating in the area<\/h2><p>Koura Society, Koura VPK, Koura Louhi, Koura elderly home association, SPR&#039;s Koura department, Koura hunting club, Nurmon Koura station area countrymen&#039;s club, Koura household women. The village&#039;s active associations offer the villagers hobby, training and training events in their respective fields throughout the year.<\/p><h2>Village events<\/h2><p>The Easter bonfire is lit, weather permitting, every Easter.
