The Liiveri area will be experimenting with local food pop-up events, where producers will market their products directly to consumers. 20 primary producers and processors are participating in the experiment, but more are still needed.<\/p>\n

-We already know that the selection will be comprehensive and that there will be a wide variety of products available, says Project Manager Mari Viljanmaa from Into Sein\u00e4joki Oy. Currently, Viljanmaa is still making agreements with producers and looking for suitable premises.<\/p>\n
-Consumers' interest in local, organic food and natural products has also increased producers' interest in meeting this demand. However, cooperation between producers has been quite limited so far, which the project will promote.<\/p>\n
Nine event weeks<\/strong><\/p>\n During the autumn, a total of nine event weeks will be organized in the Ilmajoki, Jalasj\u00e4rvi and Sein\u00e4joki areas, three in each location. Pop-up spaces will be sought, for example, in empty commercial properties and locations with different profiles. In addition, pop-up events can be organized at different events.<\/p>\n -The consumer benefits from having a wide selection of local food at their fingertips and being able to buy many things from the same place. The producer benefits from joint marketing and making the products known. The producers also share presentation shifts and other tasks related to the pop-up event.<\/p>\n Viljanmaa sees the emerging networks as a big plus for entrepreneurs, which at best will survive and continue to develop. The concept can be utilized at least in events in the future, but at best it can also be a development platform for a permanent brick-and-mortar store.<\/p>\n Nettle rolls and chicory powder<\/strong><\/p>\n A florist living in Koskenkorva is joining the pop-up experiment. Satu Hiltunen.<\/strong> She makes baked goods to order at home. Nature and products from nature are also close to her heart. Wild food is reflected in her products, including nettle rolls, which she started selling at the REKO local food chain in Sein\u00e4joki.<\/p>\n Home baker Satu Hiltunen also grows herbs and gathers wild food. She uses nettles in rolls and makes jam from dandelions. <\/p>\n -I have always enjoyed baking and have helped out at parties for relatives and friends. I have been responsible for the provincial soup kitchen for several years now. The side job that came from my hobby brings me a nice extra income, Hiltunen says happily. In addition to baked goods, she makes things like aronia jam and dries bilberries for sale. Sea buckthorn bilberry cake is her specialty.<\/p>\n The pop-up local food project is piloting joint marketing events in empty commercial properties in the Liiveri area. The project is being implemented by Into Sein\u00e4joki Oy.
