This summer Ylistaro Asemanseutun Kehitt\u00e4misyhdistys AsKy ry will hold the Asemazing Race competition. In the Asemazing Race, you travel by bike or on foot, looking for points marked on the map in the Asemanseutu area.<\/p>\n
- The goal was to come up with something new and interesting to do, so that you don't have to go crazy. Anyone can participate in the competition, says village activist Johanna Punkari.<\/p>\n
At points, competitors receive local historical information using QR codes. A Jopo and a helmet will be drawn among all those who cross the check marks.<\/p>\n

You can spend a leisurely beach day at the Pietarus recreation area located on the border of Ylistaro and Ilmajoki. The place is a summer paradise in miniature. Pietarus uimamontu's clear water, pier, sauna, beach volleyball court and campfire site are available to everyone.<\/p>\n
- Anyone who pays a voluntary annual fee can use the sauna, as long as they keep the places clean and bring their own slippers, Punkari says.<\/p>\n
For those interested in genuine local history from Ostrobothnia, the Johannas recommend Ritari's home museum, which is a private museum in Ylistaro, founded in the early 1980s. Each building has plenty of items related to agriculture and housekeeping. The buildings include two granaries, Haapoja's barn, church stable, equipment warehouse, workshop, cart livery, stable and aft cabin. The museum is open by appointment.<\/p>\n
The sports hall of Ylistaro Asemanseutu school, which was completed in 2017, also serves during the summer. 75% of the financing of the gymnasium was done through Ely from the Swedish Rural Development Fund, the rest was done as a clearing house.<\/p>\n
- I want to teach my children that it is worth working for the common good, Koivusalo says.<\/p>\n
A total of 5,721 man-hours and 933 machine-hours of manual work were done. The final cost of the hall, including the kitchen, is 594,273 euros. The hall can be rented, for example, for personal fitness, trick-or-treating or children's birthday parties. There is also a gym in the gymnasium.<\/p>\n
