We are looking for pilot villages or village groups willing to participate in active development cooperation.
The impacts of extreme weather events and the changed security environment, including cyber threats, have increased the need to prepare for the vulnerability of our society. Risk factors
For example, there are numerous consequences of prolonged power outages and disruptions to water supply.
The Smart Village Preparedness project develops the ability of villages to cope with potential disruptions and crises. The aim of the activities is to strengthen the expertise of village communities, equip village houses, ensure access to water and the flow of information, and investigate financing opportunities for the necessary investments.
The activities strengthen the crisis resilience of village communities
The awareness, skills and community spirit of the villagers will be increased by organizing training and exercises taking into account different age groups.
Volunteer village security teams will be established to speed up the assistance needed by villagers and act as a link to the authorities if necessary.
Cooperation between villages, authorities, municipalities and voluntary organizations will be strengthened.
We are equipping village houses with village prefabricated houses
The accessibility and equipment of village houses to function as village emergency houses will be promoted.
The flow of information will be ensured by creating a village radio network covering the province and penetrating the security chain, taking into account training in the use of radio telephones and equipment maintenance.
The availability of domestic water is ensured by mapping the wells and springs in the villages.
Village-specific contingency plans are being drawn up.
Villages' smart preparedness continues seamlessly builds on over 10 years of development work to improve the safety and preparedness of villages. The project is covering the province and will last until the end of 2027. The project is Co-financed by the European Union, rThe permit has been granted by the South Ostrobothnia Vitality Center.
