In Liveri, it has always been seen that young people are also actors themselves, not just targets of development measures.
Young people participate development strategy planning and implementation.

Many Leader projects target young people and their wishes and hobby opportunities, as well as youth activation.
"It has to be said that the hobby conditions improved considerably," commented Ari Loukasmäki, who was involved in the project. The number of IK football license players has increased since the investment. The arena has more than 300 users per week. Möötatuuli Areena has been financed by the Southern Ostrobothnia ELY Center and Liiveri.
The aim is to make better use of the unused potential of outdoor activities in increasing the movement of children and young people by means of a new type of circulating hobby activity.
"We have tried to create a comprehensive water sports center where people will enjoy hanging out and enjoying water sports," says young entrepreneur Elmo Saikkonen.
The goal of Jalasjärvi 4H is to increase especially children's and young people's interest in local culture and the history of their home region by offering experiential museum stories, activity workshops and nature experiences.
"At Liiver, we want to invest in young people by supporting various projects. We have supported activities related to sports, free time and culture", says Veera Bohjanen, member of Liiveri's youth division and deputy member of the board.
Liveri invests in young people in many different ways, for example:
Youth Division is an influential group made up of young people, with representatives from every municipality in Liiver's operating area.
The Youth Division evaluates the groups' Nuoriso-Leader applications, makes the voice of young people heard
in local decision-making and participates in Liiver's events and content production.
"The best thing is when you get to participate in realizing the young people's own things. When you're quite young yourself, it's great that young people are the target group in all decision-making," says Sofia Douka, chairperson of the youth department.
