The evenings are getting darker and yard lighting is becoming more relevant again. Lighting, or rather the lack of it, is striking in many outdoor spaces, which affects the usability and safety of the spaces as soon as dusk falls. That is why Liiveri is organizing a yard lighting evening, which will illustrate the lighting options for outdoor spaces in particular for associations.

Liiveri environmental designer Reetta Yli-Hynnilä has visited dozens of associations' yards over the year and almost without exception, the lighting in the area and the lack thereof have come up in discussion.
– In these environments, large yard areas need to be illuminated, such as parking lots, walkways, entrances and building walls. Sometimes there are also obvious danger areas in the area. This gave rise to the idea of organizing an outdoor lighting lecture, with the main focus on association facilities, Yli-Hynnilä says.
Successful lighting is influenced by factors such as the height, brightness and reflection of the light. Good lighting is also in harmony with the environment.
– Of course, the same principles of lighting also work in private yards, Yli-Hynnilä sums up.
Some of the lighting will be demonstrated outdoors, where the effects of changing the height and angle of the light will be examined, among other things. The use of light against vegetation and wall surfaces will also be explored outdoors.
The yard lighting evening will be held at the Liiver office at the Cultural Center Herrala (address: Könnintie 27A, Ilmajoki) on Thursday, November 16th from 6-8:30 p.m. Coffee will start at 5:30 p.m. For coffee, please attend the event. to register in advance.
