Alakylä

The Alakylä-Seura ry, which is responsible for the Alakylä, Katajalaakso and Kultavuueri areas, is the residents' association of the Alakylä area. There are 3271 inhabitants in the area.
The village club is also an active influencer in current issues concerning its area.

The most important events in the village

Established activities of the residents' association include, for example, an Easter bonfire, environmental cleaning tasks, mushroom trips and Advent devotional together with the congregation.

Services

The elementary school is the Alakylä school with about 300 students. Our school's focus areas are responsible schooling, entrepreneurship education and the learning use of information and communication technology. In the fall of 2013, Alakylä school was the first Finnish school to receive the quality seal of Entrepreneurship Education. The S-Market grocery store operates in the district.

Village business

The Maitosuomen Seinäjoki factory, which employs nearly 400 people and belongs to Valio's owner cooperatives, produces butter, spreads, curds, and cottage cheese from the nearly 400 million liters of milk processed annually.
