Nopankylä

Nopankylä is a vibrant and attractive village. Nopankylä has a personal and communal way of organizing events and activities - it considers the village a good and safe place to live and live. The village has good connections to the surrounding areas: 30 minutes to Seinäjoki, 15 minutes to Kurikka and Ilmajoki. The rural landscapes of the village are peaceful and beautiful like a postcard. Nopankylä is an excellent destination for its nature. The Mäkinen terrain, different from the plains, offers opportunities for many sports and outdoor activities. The largest lake of Ilmajoki, Lake Kalajaisjärvi, is located in the area, with the Pässilä nature trail in its terrain. Kurjenkierros is also a high-quality nature trail in the area of three different municipalities, where Nopankylä is included as a region. The lookout tower and loggia located on Kurpanvuori offer a wide view of the surroundings. The well-maintained outdoor areas offer a refreshing outdoor day with picking mushrooms, picking berries and roasting sausages. The village has a beautiful school environment, which is maintained by the municipality and the villagers. The village hall renovated with kökkätyö makes it possible to hold small parties, and the village hall's yard is an atmospheric gathering place for the villagers in the summer. There is a memorial on the historical site, i.e. the site of Finland's first cooperative store. The village also has a museum workshop. Long traditions in the village's active cooperative activities create a permanent sense of community in the village, which is easy for new villagers to become a part of. New residents are welcome.

The village hall is located in the middle of the village at the intersection of four roads. The village hall has youth and meeting rooms and a gym. The weaving circle of the civic college and radio amateurs operate at the school. In Kalajaisjärvi, there is a 3-km-long lighted toboggan run, cross-country skiing trails, open-air swimming in winter, and nature trails with shelters.

In 2009, Nopankylä was chosen as the Southern Pohja Village of the Year. The village appears in literature: e.g. Pentti Virrankoski: Cartwrights and sledgehammers, Southern Ostrobothnia's "history of decent pioneers", and Maire Loppi: Spirited about life.
