The World's Biggest Talkoos challenge all of Finland to do good
The World's Biggest Talkoots are taking place this week in different parts of Finland. The goal is to do a million hours of good work with and for young people during the week. Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry and Liiveri ry challenge everyone to talk on Tuesday 15.9. between 14:00 and 18:00 to the Kyrkösjärvi swimming beach in the scenery of Luontalo Käpälikö. One hour of talk per person is enough and soot pot coffees are served on site.
There is a wide variety of activities available at the nature center's workshops: construction and installation of the frisbee golf course, renovation of the country's first barefoot path, clearing of willows or ideation of the use of the area or marketing and use of the area.
- The Talkoop tradition lives on strongly in South Ostrobothnia. For example, the last projects of the Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry, Luontotalo Käpälikkö and Kyrkösjärvi accessible plank route and Linnunlaulumetsä, are proof of the power of talko work. There were more than a hundred names of both men, women and young people on the talk lists of the nature house. Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry's talks continue every Wednesday throughout the year, says Hannu Salo, chairman and project manager of Lakeuden Elämysliikunta ry.
- If you give of yourself to work, you get a good mood, physical condition, activity and social capital back in many ways, Salo sums up the charm of talkies
The World's Biggest Talkoots
highlight leader activities
The World's Biggest Talkoot is a campaign organized by Finland's Leader groups and the rural network, with the aim of not only doing good things, but also highlighting the spirit of the community and the importance of working with community groups.
In Leader projects, the talks are a great way to offset the self-financing part, and without the incredible efforts of the talks, many great things would not have been realized. Through the Leader groups, with the support of the rural program, thousands of projects that improve hobby opportunities for young people around the country have been financed, for example.
The website maailmansuurimmattalkoot.fi serves as a platform where talkies are announced and signed up for, challenged to talk and collect talk hours. The website's statistics keep track of where in Finland jobs are done and how many hours are accumulated. On Social media, the good news of the World's Biggest Talks is spread with the tag #tuntitalkoi.
