Autumn is a good time to start a meadow – the seeds have time to settle in the ground during the winter and in the spring they wake up to grow. Join us for a free workshop open to everyone to learn how to successfully start your own or a shared meadow. Even a small meadow supports biodiversity and pollinators.
The workshop will be held at the Jalasjärvi Museum on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, starting at 5 p.m. At the beginning of the workshop, Nadja from Törnroos Plants from Alavalli will introduce the topic with a brief information session, where she will explain the basics of establishing a meadow: how to prepare the land, what kind of seeds to use, and what else to consider in the first few years.
After that, we move outside and learn how to establish a meadow on a practical level. We learn how to establish a meadow – from preparing the soil to sowing seeds and care tips.
This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about the topic and take concrete actions for the environment.
Due to the coffee service, we ask Register by September 26th.
The workshop is organized by Liiverin's Eco-Acts Together project in collaboration with Törnroos Plants and Jalasjärvi-Seura ry.
