Come and explore the magnificent Hyypänjoki Valley on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The trip offers practical perspectives on landscape management, cultural environments and local activities, and gives ideas on what associations and community activities can do for the well-being of the landscape and nature. Mikko Rotola-Pukkila from Hyyppää will be your guide on the trip!
The Hyypänjoki Valley is a nationally valuable landscape area where biodiversity and cultural heritage go hand in hand. The area has been recognized for its long-term landscape management and community work.
During the tour, we will experience a diverse range of local life and history:
- Hämes-Havunen – a unique 19th-century Ostrobothnian peasant house and a valuable architectural heritage site.
- Riverhill's Highland – animals as landscapers in natural pastures
- Antique pearl – peasant antiques
- Hyypä Village Association & Lodge – the story behind the landscape area
- Katikankanjoni – a peek into the national park
- Hyypä Observation Tower – a peek at the scenery from the tower
A soup lunch and coffee will be served during the tour. The tour is free and open to all interested parties! Places are limited! Register by May 31st via this link.
