Study trip to Suupohja and Satakunta

11.09.2016

The South Ostrobothnia Leader groups' Kylille project organizes a study trip to Suupohja and Satakunta on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Village officials, village event organizers, nature tourists and other interested parties are invited to join the trip.

Preliminary program:

8:00 a.m. Departure from Päivölä Citymarket parking lot (Väinämöinen 2, Seinäjoki)
10:00–11:30 Nälkähine / Marian Luontoateriat, Isojoki Lauhavuori. Familiarization with the nature tourism destination and presentation of the Geopark project. Coffees and sandwiches.
13:15–16:00 Leinperin Ruukki, Ulvila. Getting to know the iron milieu, its workshops and stores. Possibility to shop at the autumn market. Meals on your own.
17:15–18:15 Tykkö town hall, Jämijärvi. Presentation of the village hall and its activities, information about the village association's Leader projects. Coffee with a pinch of salt.
20:00 Return to Päivölä Citymarket parking lot.

Our first destination to explore is Lauhavuori National Park and the Marian Luontoateriat operating in its area. The company organizes experiential meals to order, e.g. in the restaurant and on the porch. In Nälkähis we also get information about the Geopark project. The goal of the project coordinated by Metsähallitus is to develop and build the area's operations to the international level of Geopark criteria.

From Lauhavuori we head to Ulvila's Leineperi, whose old iron mill milieu has been taken over by craft workshops, exhibition spaces and shops. Several events are organized in the area during the year.

Our last destination is Tykkö village hall in Jämijärvi. The log-built village hall, completed in 2011, is in active use and requires activity from the village actors who run its activities as well.
