We are organizing a joint study tour of the Kylille project of EP's Leader groups to Kaskis and the lighthouse island of Sälgrund. A bus shuttle to Kaski is organized from the area of each Leader group.
Getting to know the wonderful Bladhi merchant house and garden in Kaskis. Sea trip from Kaskisten's guest marina to the lighthouse island of Sälgrund. The boat ride takes about 30 minutes, and during that time we can see the scenery from the sea to the town's settlement, the seaside and summer cottages, the industrial area and the deep harbor of Kaskisten.
Finland's first petroleum-powered lighthouse is located on the island of Sälgrund, as well as the culturally historically valuable surroundings of the former pilot station. In the vicinity of the lighthouse, there is an idyllic courtyard created by the former pilot station and other residential buildings. Today, the buildings have been converted into accommodation, café and meeting facilities. The rocks of Sälgrund Island and the surrounding sea are fascinating. The island is surrounded by a nature trail that leads to rugged coastal cliffs, green coastal meadows and forests. You can spot several bird species on the island. The National Museum Agency has defined the entire island of Sälgrund, the lighthouse and its preserved buildings as a nationally valuable built cultural environment.
On the island, we get to see the Sälgrund lighthouse and circle the island's nature trail. The local guide tells about the history of the island, the lighthouse and the former pilot station. Island lunch and afternoon coffees.
