Open villages day is organized on Saturday 10 June 2023 nationally for the ninth time. The villages can announce their own event for the day, thus enabling a nice program and getting to know the village for both tourists and potential new residents. What kind of program is going to be organized in your village? The event can be, for example, a flea market, a sauna marathon or something special about your village!
Liiver's Kylille III project leader Anne Palohuhta encourages the villages to take advantage of the opportunity brought by the Open Villages Day.
- Open villages day is a great way to highlight the opportunities and activities of the villages. I encourage all villages to take advantage of the spotlight brought by the day and boldly present their events to others!
Palohuhta reminds us that participating in the day does not necessarily require a concrete event organized on the spot.
- In the evening, it is also possible to publish online content, such as a virtual photo exhibition. This kind of virtual content is even more accessible to people.
Open Villages 2023 have also organized information and training sessions related to the event, with information about the event, permits related to organizing your own event, as well as tips for its communication and marketing. The recordings training events can be found on Suomen Kylie's website.
The events must be announced by May 28. This year registration is easily done with one form.
EDIT: The registration period has been extended until June 4, 2023!
Palohuhta emphasizes the importance of registration.
- Announcing your own event in time is worthwhile, because we at Liiver also market events in our region.
The event is organized by Suomen Kylät ry, provincial village associations, Leader groups, local associations and activists.
