Preparedness is a collaboration between regions, organizations and grassroots levels

Leader Liiveri and Leader Suupohja organized a study trip in Seinäjoki, Ilmajoki and Kurikka on 13-14 April 2026 for Nordic Preparedness project partners from Finland and Sweden. The aim of the Leader cooperation project is to increase knowledge and awareness of the crisis resilience of citizens and communities and to share best practices between rural areas. Guidelines and application periods for Leader funding for autumn 2026

All forms of project and business support are still available for application. The project selection emphasizes internationality, security and preparedness, as well as the inclusion of young people in development work. A maximum of €80,000 will be granted for an individual project, instead of the previous €100,000. There will be three processing sessions for Leader applications in the autumn. Project support applications must be submitted to Hyrrä three weeks and business support applications two weeks before the processing dates. Mari Mäki-Karvia from the village of Hirvijärvi in Jalasjärvi has started as the chairwoman of the Liiver board. Application open: Free yard plan for the village hall

Liiveri will implement a free yard plan for up to three village houses. Now is the opportunity to get a ready-made plan on how to modify the yard of a village house to make it cozy and suitable for the environment, to look exactly like your village. The plans will be implemented by ProAgria's landscape designer Marika Riihimäki. A few highlights from 2025: 94 positive project and business support decisions LocalTapiola granted 20,000 euros to Liiveri's Youth Leader activities Young Bridge Builders, Nordic Preparedness and Eco-Acts Together projects launched 89 of the community houses that received a % survey request responded to the national village house survey of Finnish Villages. The association's business operations started after a break of years.
