Leader activities in Finland for 30 years – follow and participate in the anniversary events!
Rural residents, communities and municipalities have been developing their own areas with the support of EU rural funding and Leader activities for 30 years this year. Community-led local development, or Leader, is the most influential in the EU in Finland. The anniversary is being celebrated on social media channels and at various events. After Finland joined the EU in 1995, preparations for Leader programmes began in different parts of the country. We would like to warmly thank all customers, project leaders, entrepreneurs, partners and residents of the region for the past year. Thank you for making our region even more vibrant and community-oriented. In 2025, the Liiveri government made a total of 97 positive decisions on Leader applications. Of these, 29 are project grants and 68 are business grants. A total of €1,092,830 in support was granted. Youth Leader support was granted to a total of 34 applicants.
