Sign up as an organizer of Local Food Day - let's set a visitor record for the rural areas of South Pojanma together!
Local food day is a national event, the purpose of which is to introduce the countryside and local food to the whole nation. This year Local Food Day is celebrated for two days. The organizers will keep their doors open for guests on Saturday 7 September and, if desired, also on Sunday 8 September. Producers, farms, gardens, services, entrepreneurs and further processors who work with local food and the countryside can register as an organizer. Rural experience tourism operators, food industry professionals, associations and clubs are also invited. The organizer can sell their own products, set up a pop-up cafe or restaurant and present e.g. premises, machines, equipment or organize other nice activities such as a craft station or animal crunching.
You can also form a joint destination with several operators, which will attract even more visitors! In this case, it is important that each vendor associated with the group adds their own destination to the Local Food Day map, even if the location of all vendors points to the same address. In this case, the map gets a lot of buzz and the visitors get excited!
Become an organizer and open your door to visitors! You can easily register as an organizer On the website of Lähiruokadäu. You can register until the day before, but 16.8. those who have registered by can order a free material package for organizing the event. The event is free for both organizers and visitors.
The official opening of Local Food Day will be celebrated on Saturday 7 September in the Keskikylä of Jalasjärvi in connection with the Children's Agricultural Exhibition.
