The summer of 2024 was special for me in many ways. I started working at Liiver at the beginning of April, and right from the start it was clear that the upcoming summer would offer diverse and interesting challenges. My main task during the summer was to put together Liiver's results and effectiveness website, which will serve as an important tool in the future for communicating the achievements of Liiver's operations.
Impact work has been done in Liiver for a long time, and this new site also enables previous impact evaluations to be made visible. The website can be used to better illustrate how Liiver's operations have promoted the development of our region and what kind of added value it has produced for the local community.
This project offered me the opportunity to use my marketing and business communication studies in practical work. I was able to delve deeper into assessment and analysis in particular, carry out surveys and interview many project implementers. The website highlights the added value of Liiver's operations and shows the importance of Liiver's operations in the development of our region.
During the summer, I also had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Young LEADER Forum in Vierunmäki. The event was a unique opportunity to meet young people from different parts of Europe and to exchange thoughts and ideas about the development of Leader activities. This experience further strengthened my understanding of how important the participation of young people is in local development work.
Summer work at Liiver has been a hugely educational and rewarding experience for me this summer as well. I have been able to develop my skills, apply what I learned at university in practice and work with inspiring people. I will miss Liiver's wonderful work team, but it's good to carry on with a backpack full of new lessons and experiences.
Now it's time to continue my studies in economics in Jyväskylä. Thanks to Liiver for this summer and the wonderful experiences!
