In the commemoration workshop organized at Könni's village hall last February, there was a lively discussion led by Paula Vannesluoma from Liiver. Kosti Ketelä, Juha Iso-Tuisku, Heikki Kivistö, Kaija Aspila-Renkola, Elvi Viita-aho and Salomo Halkosaari participated in the workshop from Könni village.
In cooperation with the villages of Keskikylä, Kitinoja and Könni, Liiveri organized commemorative workshops, the purpose of which was to gather information about the different phases of the village from the past 20 years.
- Three villages were selected, each of which has in turn been chosen as the South Pohja village of the year, Liiver's village expert Irma Kortesuo tells.
The remembrance workshop is a method in which the villagers themselves remembered what has been done in the villages and how the village has changed over the past decades.
- A lot of kitchen work is done in the villages and people are active. In the commemorative workshops, important stages and highlights of the villages from the past decades emerged, Kortesuo sums up.
From the collected data, a village timeline was compiled from each participating village. Keskikylän, Kitinojan and Könni village the timelines also highlight the significant role of Leader funding as a financier of various new openings.
- Liiveri has played an important role in increasing the activity and initiative of the villages, and we wanted to make this visible, says Kortesuo.
The timelines of the villages are handed over framed to each participating village. They can also be seen on Liiver's Facebook during this autumn. From the timelines, you can concretely see what kind of stages the villages have been through and what has been achieved up to now.
- I hope the timelines will help in remembering and recognizing the history of the villages even better. The purpose of the timelines is also to inspire continued successful development work, says Kortesuo.
The commemoration workshops were part of Liiver's Impact and communication project, the purpose of which was to bring out different ways of evaluating effectiveness.
