This year, Energy Saving Week will be celebrated from 6 to 12 October 2025. During Energy Saving Week, we will highlight village associations that have improved the energy efficiency of their village houses and made them more comfortable and sustainable places for the entire community.

Safer and more energy-efficient Ylivallin Seurala
Improvements have been made to the Ylivalli Seurala community building to make it safer, more energy efficient and accessible to everyone. The repairs were based on a previously conducted condition survey.
The lighting has been completely renewed and added to – old, fire-hazardous lamps have been replaced with energy-efficient LED lights. The exterior doors were replaced with new, well-insulated doors that match the traditional look of the house. The renovations have reduced electricity bills and reduced heating costs.
At the same time, the roof leak was repaired and a new, safe wheelchair ramp was built in the Seurala yard. Accessibility is particularly important because Seurala is the only gathering place in the village, and it also serves as an emergency center in case of a disturbance.

Munakka Youth Center is undergoing long-term renovation
The Munakka Youth Club took another step towards a more comfortable and energy-efficient village hall.
An air source heat pump and room-specific ventilation units have been installed in the hallway and toilets. New windows are still on the way.
The previously drawn up interior design plan for the village house will be implemented piece by piece in a thoughtful and long-term manner. The planned renovation ensures that the improvements support each other and lead the house towards a more sustainable and functional whole.

Pojanluoman Seurala is being actively developed
The Ilmajoki Pojanluoman Seurala community has already managed to halve its electricity consumption thanks to energy investments. The goal is to make the village hall carbon neutral.
The Pojanluoma Society has developed Seurala in many ways in recent years with funding from Liiver and ELY, and the results are visible in, among other things, reduced electricity consumption, in addition to the beautiful facilities suitable for many uses.
