Liiveri and the Kuortane Savings Bank Foundation have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at improving employment opportunities for young people. Thanks to this, Seinäjoki and Ilmajoki associations now have money available to hire a young person to develop their activities next summer.
– Young people's access to the workforce and the vitality of the region are common goals of both the foundation and Liiver. That's why it was natural to start building a partnership. If there is demand for summer job support, we want to make it a permanent practice, says Jaana Mesiäislehto-Mäntypuro, a member of the foundation's board.
Liiveri Chairman Keijo Viertoma is also pleased with the new opening. The foundation's private funding brings new opportunities to promote issues that EU funding does not address.
– For example, we can now encourage associations to start small-scale businesses and also support projects in the Seinäjoki city center, Viertoma says.
Funding for salary costs is 2,000–5,000 euros, of which the maximum amount of support sought from Liiveri is 90 percent. At best, the association will cover one tenth of the salary costs. Applications must be submitted by 28 February. More detailed application instructions can be found at www.liiveri.net.
