In April, Liiveri organized a volunteer meeting, where 11 international guests from five different European countries and over 40 local experts met. During the three days, they learned about the methods of implementing volunteer work in the Liiveri area in Seinäjoki and Ilmajoki, and discussed volunteer opportunities. Below are some of the highlights of the day in the form of pictures.
The international visit began with a tour of the Seinäjoki Aalto Center. At the end of the visit, representatives of the Seinäjoki parish, Otto Savolainen and Johanna Piuhola, spoke about volunteer work and its importance in the Seinäjoki parish.
The second day of the visit started at Liiver's office, where a panel discussion introduced various forms of volunteer work in our region. The panelists were Mikko Jokipii from Mukula Association, Timo Hämäläinen from Ostrobothnia Sports and Athletics Association, Karoliina Streefkerk from Hanhikoski Village, and Sanna Paloniemi from South Ostrobothnia Youth Clubs Association. The panel was moderated by Hannemari Niemi from IntoSeinäjoki.
In Ilmajoki, we got to know the Ilmajoki Music Festival and the volunteer work involved in its implementation. We also got to watch the construction of the huge sets for the upcoming Mannerheim Opera.
One of the places visited was the diverse Seinäjoki Elämysliikuntareitistö, where visitors got to know, among other things, the construction workers in new areas.
On the last day, the results of the visits were collected at the Rhythmic Music Center. The volunteer work, which was also socially significant for the employee, and the volunteer work done by young people in organizing and facilitating music events, had aroused particular interest during the days.
