The annual meeting of the Development Association Liiveri convened at Nurmo Library on March 25, 2025 and elected new board members to replace those who were due to resign and those who had submitted a resignation request.
A rural resident will continue as chairman of the board Päivi Alaniska From Seinäjoki. This is his second year as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liiver. According to the association's rules, this is Alaniska's last year on the board.
A rural resident was elected as the new full member of the board. Laura Niemi From Ilmajoki, Peräseinäjoki Pennihäät ry Hannu Viitasaari from Peräseinäjoki and representative of the city of Kurikka Reijo Hamalainen From Jalasjärvi.
A rural resident was elected as the new deputy members Lauri Pentinmäki From Ilmajoki, Ilmajoki Guides Association Raija Viitamaki From Ilmajoki, Ylistaro Hunting Association Anne Karhu-Kallioväli from Ylistaro and a representative of the city of Seinäjoki Hello Kitinoja From Seinäjoki.
One third of the members of the Liiver board are elected from representatives of municipalities, one third from representatives of companies and communities and one third from rural residents. In addition, equal representation of different regions is ensured. Attention is also paid to gender and age distribution. The Liiver board meets almost monthly to decide on Leader subsidies to be financed. The term of office of a member lasts three years, the chairman is elected annually. Approximately one third of the members are due to resign each year.
We warmly thank those who left the board for their time and contribution to the Leader board. You have been an important part of our joint work to develop the region. We wish you all the best for the future and hope that our cooperation will continue in the future.
