In South Ostrobothnia, Liiveri has been looking for necessary tools for many kinds of work for ages. Leader Liiver's tools are funding that is used to create new things and improve old ones. And when you ask which three things you would highlight from the past year, here they are: The new carousel farming innovation took great strides forward, and maybe by Christmas time fresh, domestic strawberries will already be served on a table somewhere. The Corona era brought out the weak optical fiber situation in our region. Of course, improvement has already taken place in recent years, but we send Santa a wish that the availability of broadband will continue to improve and that public funding for construction will also be found in the peripheral areas. The Youth Division, Liiver's own innovation from 10 years ago, is in full force. The ten-year anniversary was moved to next year, but in honor of the anniversary, the Young Entrepreneur grant was opened for applications.
Climate action, internationalization, fiber optics
Next year, work on Liiver's own projects will continue with important themes. Climate wise theme projects will be realized during next spring and summer. The youth as developers group hires young people to design more ecological solutions for associations and to inform about climate change. The investment project aims to have a smaller carbon footprint, save energy and promote biodiversity.
In the Kylille project, investments are made in the safety planning of the villages. Security plans are made in the villages to make the everyday security of their own village run smoothly and to prepare for exceptional circumstances. The aim is to make the safety plans part of the municipalities' welfare and safety planning. Next year, the digital skills of the residents of the villages will also be promoted and events related to well-being, local culture and the circular economy will be organized.
The information sessions of the Vauhtia valokikuuun project, which started nicely, will continue next year. In the information events, villages and communities are informed and activated about the benefits of fiber optics, and with the help of a needs survey, possible investment sites are mapped and guidance is given in the search for funding.
The 10th anniversary of Liiver's Youth Division will be celebrated in February. In the summer of 2022, an international youth camp will be held, the theme of which is the means of influencing young people and sustainable development. In addition, through the international SaYouth project, young people in the Liiver region and those who work with young people are offered the opportunity to leave for an interesting study visit.
Moving on from Corona - the theme of Leader financing
In 2022, we especially want to support how we move on from the corona. We still have plenty of funding for 2022, but the estimate is that the money will run out in early autumn. So now it's worth getting down to business and thinking about what kind of development is needed? What old, good things should be restarted or what new needs, so-called a new normal has emerged? Next year, we will support both communities and companies in development activities based on the needs of the region!
Active associations, entrepreneurs and other developers will continue to be a prerequisite for the euro granted by Liiver to bring vitality to the region! Many thanks to everyone involved in Liiver's activities. We look forward to the new year with confidence and anticipation!
