Young people are a genuine part of Liiver's activities, and we want the voice of young people to be heard in decision-making. The Young People in Liiversi brochure has been published online and it shows the history of Liiver's youth division for more than ten years and presents projects implemented with Nuoriso-Leader funding.
- The youth division turned 10 years old in the fall. With the Youth in Liiversi brochure, we want to celebrate the youth division and show what kind of importance the Youth Leader projects have and have had in our region, says participation designer Noora Riippi, head of Liiver's youth division.
The timeline and project examples shown in the publication show how versatile Liiveri supports the inclusion of young people in the region. More than 80 projects have been done and they have e.g. developed a new kind of hobby activity, acquired hobby equipment, improved hobby spaces and implemented events. Projects of youth groups have been funded in all municipalities of Liiver's operating area since 2014. From autumn 2021, Youth Leader support has also been granted to young entrepreneurship.
- Youth money is awarded to projects that are conceived, implemented and reported by young people.
Internationality also goes hand in hand with youth activities. The goal is to offer young people as many different ways to influence and participate as possible.
- I hope that the role of young people in decision-making will only increase in the future. It is in everyone's interest if people of different ages and backgrounds participate in the development of their home region, says Riippi.
