We humans are pack animals. We too often follow others in exploring this world. There is nothing wrong with examples and ready-made models, but only those who dare to peek around corners will invent something new.
Osku Ketola, a member of the Liiver board and a music multi-tasker, challenges himself and the people of the region to be brave.
Safety, stability, predictability and certainty are people's support and security. Their dark side leads to fear. The fear that if I open my mouth now it might rock the boat. Fear makes us forget about crazy things and bold openings. Fear of failure takes away the joy of life and leads to regression.
Creativity, innovation and fresh perspectives are like muscles and must be exercised daily. New things are born from stimuli, questions, courage and rest. You have to learn to keep the flow of thought open without restrictions. You have to challenge old models with new perspectives and scrap old ways that are done just because they have always been done.
That's why I'm making a personal promise. As a member of the Liiver board, I promise to keep my mind open to new, fresh ideas. I promise to break the image that applying for money is difficult. Good ideas always have the necessary support. I also challenge you to be brave in your thoughts and new openings. Developing the region is our common vegetable garden. What if we planted the best seed potatoes year after year!
