The Liiver board awarded the 2026 diploma to the Lakeuden Ursa Association in recognition of its long-term work in increasing the accessibility of astronomy and the association's systematic and innovative activities.
Ursa Lakeuden has brought stargazing and the wonders of space to the residents of the Space Capital and nearby municipalities. The association's activities make exploring the universe accessible and enjoyable – literally broadening people's perspectives.
The observatory, built decades ago, is still a source of pride for the area, and with the new development plan, the association is moving towards more diverse and technologically advanced services. Ursa also invests in the quality of communication and raising public awareness of information, which brings hobby opportunities to the attention of more and more people.
Warm congratulations and many thanks for your valuable work for the benefit of the countryside. The Development Association Liiveri wishes you happiness and success!
The diploma was awarded in connection with the Liiver annual meeting, which was held at the Jokipii Youth Club House in Alase, Jalasjärvi, on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
