Entrepreneur Sanna Keltaniemi is living her dream in Koskenkorva. The magical old house serves as a stage for the most mystical events. If the place fascinates you, but a drum circle or a witch adventure sound too exotic, you can visit the Kuukartano Christmas shop until December 21st.
For Keltanieme, Kuukartano is a dream come true. She bought the space for her company MagaLacrima a little over a year ago. With it, the business expanded from tattoo studio services to organizing various courses and tyky days.
– I developed the brand MagaLacrima while I was still a student, and after graduating as a designer, I ran a clothing company. However, it became clear that the industry cannot survive alone in this region.
Keltaniemi retrained. He worked as a youth counselor for about ten years. A new and decisive turning point in his career path occurred in the summer of 2010.
– I got the chance to try tattooing, and it blew me away.
Inspiration from nature, recycling and subcultures
Now KuuKartano is the cradle of Keltaniemi's skills, creativity and inspiration.
– There is a tattoo studio here and a small craft and natural cosmetics shop. I also organize archery days, where you can try out historical archery, for example.
The program has also included nettle flatbread festivals, a drum workshop, herbal medicine, and weed-to-the-table courses.
Dream project assisted by Liiver
Keltaniemi received funding from Liiver for the purchase and renovation of KuuKartano. The entrepreneur's training and the establishment of a website were also successful thanks to Leader funding.
– Liiveri has had a huge impact. Without their support, it would not have been possible to embark on this dream project on this scale and so quickly.
Now Keltaniemi is living his dream as an entrepreneur.
– Entrepreneurship is not easy in Finland. But you can make an idea work as long as you are willing to work and dare to mix in enough creative madness.
