The Finnish Village Activities Association Syty has launched the Village of the Year 2017 selection round. The aim of the Village of the Year selection is to highlight the diverse activities of villages and increase the awareness and visibility of village activities. The aim is to find active villages, successful village activities and to get good examples of village activities and cooperation.
The Village of the Year selection emphasizes the villages' planned activities, long-term commitment, new creative activities, and future orientation.
The selection of the national Village of the Year is carried out in two stages. Each provincial association of villages (including the Association of Southern Pohjois Villages; www.epk.fi) nominates its own province based on applications for the Village of the Year.
Would your village be the South Ostrobothnian village of the year? The application period ends on September 15th. Download instructions and application form here.
