Liveri board

Liiveri's board meets monthly to decide on the projects to be financed. The member's term of office lasts three years, the chairman is elected annually. About a third of the members resign each year.

Once a year, the association's members meet to elect new members to the board. One third of the board members are elected from municipal representatives, one third from representatives of companies and communities, and one third from rural residents. This so-called three-party principle of the board ensures pluralism in the Leader administration (Read more about the tripartite principle in a separate pdf file – link) In addition, equal representation of different regions will be ensured. Attention will also be paid to gender and age distribution.

Liiver has two divisions under the board, whose special expertise the board utilizes in its decision-making. In addition, the divisions have an important role as cooperation networks.

Business division

The business division's task is to support the business implementation of Liiveri's strategy. The business division informs, activates, aligns and evaluates matters concerning business projects and business subsidies. The division can issue statements and take initiatives, but it has no decision-making power regarding projects. The business division, for example, acts in an expert role when assessing the impact of business subsidies on the competitive situation.

The business division's term of office is three years. The business division consists of Liiveri's board members, the region's business ombudsmen, representatives of the New Business Center and South Ostrobothnia Entrepreneurs, and Liiveri's employees.

Youth Division

At the end of 2011, a youth department under the government was established in Liiveri. Like the business division, the youth division evaluates and expresses its views on project applications and ideas to the board and project applicants. In addition, the division disseminates Leader information to young people in the region. The division consists of young people from the region and representatives and employees of the Liiver government. Read more about the youth division.
