Ylistaro Alapää is the westernmost residential area of the city of Seinäjoki. The residential area is crossed by the Sininen tie that runs from Vaasa to Jyväskylä, the Vaasa-Seinäjoki railway, Kyrönjoki and the idyllic coastal roads that run on both sides of the river. Eteläpuleinen rantatie is a historic scenic road that belongs to the Soda and Rauhantie historical tourism route. Pelmaankoski, which is part of the Kyrönjoki kayaking route, and its one stop, the Pelmaansaari hut, are located in our area. The beautiful Heikkola suspension bridge over Kyrönjoki has been renovated for use by light traffic. No matter which road you take, you can admire the traditionally restored Ostrobothnian houses and vast fields. The space of living is touchable. There are almost 500 inhabitants.
The village has the Ylistaro Alapää Youth Club, a shed in its yard, a pier, a beach volleyball court and a playground, climbing frames and a rink that is illuminated in winter for common use by the village. Pururata is located along Sininen tie in Kotivuori. In the Alapää region, Ylistaro Alapää Metsästysceura's shooting range and Turvapirtti hunting lodge are also located. On the shore of Orisberg artificial lake, there is a hut building and a rowing boat maintained by the city's sports department. The village has the Mäki-Pohto horse sports center and in its immediate vicinity the 4H livestock and play park, the horse working machine museum and the off-road karting track. In addition to the village association and the youth club, the village also has the activities of the countrymen's club, rural women and political parties.
