About 200 inhabitants live in the Haapaluoma area. Haapaluoma is located seven kilometers from the Peräseinäjoki agglomeration. It is 22 kilometers to Alavatu. There is a two-teacher school in Haapaluoma village, and the Haapakehto group daycare center also operates in its yard. First and second graders and preschoolers study at the school. The others go to school in the center of Peräseinäjoki. The starting point of all activities is the student. The basis of learning is an environment that is more than a hundred years old, where the grandparents and parents of the majority have also started their education.
School and shop. In addition, the village has various small entrepreneurs, such as horse-riding transport and earthmoving entrepreneurs. Agricultural production is also strongly involved in the everyday life of the villagers. The city organizes playground activities at the school, and the parish organizes a children's and youth club. Business transport also operates in the village area.
Haapaluoma school is used by the villagers. There is a nature trail shelter near the school. In the winter, there is a skating rink in the school yard and a 2.5 kilometer long lighted ski track near the school. You can take a dip in the water either from the beach at Kalajärvi beach or from the old quarry in Haapaluoma, where you can also practice diving. There is a riding stable in the village. Nature hiking is possible, for example, along the marked hiking trail that passes by Haapaluoma. In addition, forests offer good terrain for hunting, picking berries and moving around.
The home and school association organizes an event in the spring and winter, where there is a nice get-together in the form of exercise and sales. Every year there are also cycling events, trips organized by agricultural and household women, and a cleaning kitchen.

Our school works like a big family, where we learn and teach as well as grow and nurture. The village is close, but still far enough away. Especially the biggest roads are in good condition. Haapaluoma is a traditional Ostrobothnia village where neighbors are cared for and taken care of. If necessary, there is also talc spirit. The proximity of the Kalajärvi tourist center brings development opportunities to the village. Strong initial production and skilled entrepreneurs create a strong foundation for the future of the villages.

Keeping the village school in the village is important, as is keeping young people in the village. Wastewater issues are also feared to cause migration. The fact that services, especially municipal services, will move further away from the old municipal center is perceived as a particularly big threat.
