Huissinkylä is located in the western part of Ilmajoki municipality. It is less than an hour's drive to Vaasa, half an hour to Laihia, a quarter to Seinäjoki and a quarter to Kurikka.
Noppa, Koskenkorva and Luoma, which operate as nearby villages, cooperate more closely. The south-north illuminated highway number three and the light traffic route cut through the village, as does the neighboring Nahluoma. In the summer, you can bike to the neighboring village, to the sandy beach of Lake Kalajaisjärvi, or over the protected Visaharju all the way to Lake Orisberg. In winter, if there is enough snow, you can snowmobile along marked routes. Around Tervahamina, the road turns to the shooting range, and the Havi forest road leads to the cross track. In the forest you can also hike, hunt or collect summer and autumn crops. In Kylvölä, a sports hall owned by the Gymnastics and Sports Association Huissin Kisailaijat ry, a wide variety of sports are practiced, from slalom to dances. Several summer weddings are also held there.
Ilomäki school is located on the edge of the sunny and spacious village of about 600 inhabitants. There are family daycare workers in the village. Children's playgrounds can be found at the school and in the yard of the sports hall. Young riders are often seen on the quietest gravel roads. The van runs regularly. The nearest store is in Koskenkorva, a 5-minute drive away. The village also has fixed broadband connections.
In the sports hall owned by Gymnastics and Sports Club Huissin Kisailaijat ry, a variety of sports are practiced, from sleight of hand to dances. The annual tradition of the fitness department's church bike ride (2×17 km) is now maintained by the village association. Those who have lived and live in the village, as well as those they know, are invited to go cycling with a newspaper notice at the beginning of July. The Christmas tree party is held before Christmas. The club offers facilities for meetings, birthday parties and weddings. Singing evenings have been organized several times in July at Koivuluoma Torpa.
The vicinity of the groundwater area is beginning to be drained. The municipality has zoned large and affordable plots of land in the central area of Koskenristi. You can inquire about them directly from Ilmajoki municipality. You can ask Matti Koivuluoma at 050 5997407 about private houses and lots.
Huiss village association, Huiss rural women's association, Huiss rural women's association and Sobriety association Kevään Toivo ry.
Strengths are perceived as good transport connections, education, agricultural and other entrepreneurship, professionalism and a lively village hall. Koskenkorva's industrial center will continue to need grain as a raw material. The importance of the forest is getting stronger.
Neat and fertile wide landscapes and new buildings without forgetting the architectural heritage make the passer-by admire the appearance of the village. Agriculture and forestry employ a surprising number of operators outside the farms as well.
In the operations of the village, there is always something to improve in terms of public image, energy saving, self-sufficiency and efficiency. Residents' education and good hobbies must be encouraged without forgetting their health.
