Services

Services located in Kirkonkylä include: three grocery stores, two hardware stores, many other different businesses, such as eateries and hair salons, as well as a movie theater. The village also has a library, a swimming hall, the Wilhola Youth Centre, a parish center. Kirkonkylä operates an elementary school, a middle school and a high school. There are two daycare centers and in addition there is an eskari in Kirjatalo.

 

Shared spaces and hobby opportunities

Kirkonkylä has good opportunities for outdoor activities. Kirkonkylä's surroundings offer opportunities for versatile movement in nature, for example in the area of Kiuaskallio. The area of Kiuaskallio has good outdoor routes for walking and cycling, and downhill cycling is also available in the summer. The area also has an athletics field and Kuplahalli, which is currently under renovation. In winter, you can ski and snowboard in the area.

In the middle of the church village is Lake Lamminjärvi, on the shore of which there is a swimming beach, a traffic park open in summer, a skate park, baseball and beach volleyball fields, and a place to wash carpets. A fitness trail goes around Lake Lamminjärvi, and in winter there is an open sauna on the shore of the lake.

In the Kirkonkylä area, there is an active Sports Club Jalasjärven Jalas, in whose divisions you can practice a variety of sports in different sports, e.g. in foot, badminton, netball and volleyball, athletics, orienteering, wrestling, skiing and biathlon.

Kirkonkylä has various cultural and hobby associations that organize various events and activities.

 

Special features

The Kirkonkylä area is home to well-known companies such as Juustoportin dairy and Koja.

 

Good aspects in terms of business operations

The busy highway 3, one of the main roads of the kingdom, passes through Jalasjärvi's Kirkonkylä. In addition, immediately north of the church village, highway 19 branches off from the three-way road. The location at the intersection of the highways guarantees good traffic connections in many directions. From Kirkonkylä, the travel time to Seinäjoki is only approx. 30 minutes, to Vaasa approx. 1 hour and Tampere can be reached in an hour and a half.
