Jokipii-Ahonkylä is a settlement center that grew up around a shoe factory, where about 800 inhabitants live. Metsola school and Jokipii daycare center operate in the village. The village has its own village park, which allows for versatile movement. Jokipii is located along Valtatie 3, about six kilometers from the center of Jalasjärvi. The distance to Seinäjoki and Kauhajoki is about 30 km and to Kurikka about 15 km.

The village park is the center of many events. In Kyläpuisto there is a soccer field, a cable car and the opportunity to eat snacks and fry sausages. In Talvis, the village park has an ice rink, ski slopes and a sledding hill for the youngest in the family. Recreational opportunities are complemented by easy cycling routes. A short distance away is the well-equipped Ponsikylä hut, which can be used freely. In winter, you can ski to the cottage along a groomed trail and continue from there all the way to the other end of Jalasjärvi.
There are several associations in the area that organize diverse events. The highlight of the year has become the Jokipi Country Market, which is always held on the last Saturday of August. Other traditional events include Jokipi's SaunaOpen Open Villages Day and Jokipi's Living Christmas Calendar. Every year, the village association also remembers everyone who moved to and was born in the village.
Several hobby groups meet at the clubhouse, such as: drama club, 4H club, chat cobblers and family club. In cooperation, the associations also organize skiing trips, shopping and theater trips, summer bike trips and other events for the whole family. Jokipii village is the oldest inhabited area in the area, there is already a record of the first house in 1545. It is known that the first splitting of land in Jalasjärvi was carried out in 1587, when Ala- and Yli-Jokipii were formed, the place was a river island, pii, from which the name came. Jokipii-Ahonkylä is an active and energetic village and because of this, Jokipii-Ahonkylä has been chosen as the South Ostrobothnia village of 2022 by the South Ostrobothnia villages!
The proximity of highway 3 and thus good access to all directions is one of the area's most important strengths. Companies operating in the area employ the villagers and keep the village attractive.
