Jokipii

Jokipii-Ahonkylä is a settlement center that grew up around a shoe factory, where about 800 inhabitants live. Metsola school and Jokipii daycare center operate in the village. The village has its own village park, which allows for versatile movement. Jokipii is located along Valtatie 3, about six kilometers from the center of Jalasjärvi. The distance to Seinäjoki and Kauhajoki is about 30 km and to Kurikka about 15 km.

Special features

Jokipii village is the oldest inhabited area in the area, there is already a record of the first house in 1545. It is known that the first splitting of land in Jalasjärvi was carried out in 1587, when Ala- and Yli-Jokipii were formed, the place was a river island, pii, from which the name came. Jokipii-Ahonkylä is an active and energetic village and because of this, Jokipii-Ahonkylä has been chosen as the South Ostrobothnia village of 2022 by the South Ostrobothnia villages!
