The village is located about five kilometers from the center of Ylistaro. It is about 30 km to Seinäjoki and 35 km to Lapua. There are approximately 130 residents in Kärkimäki. The houses in the village are at the foot of the Rocky Mountains or next to them. The terrain of the village is exceptionally hilly and rocky, and the village's landscape is characterized by forests, rocky mountains and fields. There is a good community spirit in the village.
