Only five minutes by car from the center of Seinäjoki is Kiikku, a small rural village along the Seinäjoki-Vaasa highway. The straightening channel of the mouth of Seinäjoki to Kyrönjoki passes through the village, adding to the arable landscape that dominates the village and to the villagers' hobby opportunities. Kiikku's village landscape also includes horses, as there is a riding school with manes in the village. Many villagers also enjoy horse riding, which is made possible not only by the peaceful rural environment but also by the relaxed atmosphere. There are about 80 households in the village and more than 130 residents. The majority of residents work outside the village.

A village house with a playground in the yard. A playing field that is illuminated and frozen in winter. The Lehtisalo quarry swimming spot has proven to be a popular swimming spot, where people come from further afield. Paukaneva's longwood trail with its sheds and bird towers is in active use, as is the Kiikku dam area for fishing enthusiasts. The riverside offers good opportunities for jogging and hobbies with horses and dogs.

There are privately owned construction sites in the village.
The village's greatest strength is its close location to the center of Seinäjoki. Most of the city's services are only six kilometers away. Good transport connections guarantee easy and fast movement even for light traffic. Despite the proximity to the city, living in Kiiku is spacious and rural.
The starting point of Paukaneva's barrier-free 600-meter local exercise route is the rest stop of the northern bypass road (number 18) running from Seinäjoki to Vaasa. An accessible bird tower will be built at the end of this local exercise route in the spring of 2011. A plan for a horse trail via Kiiku to Ylistaro will also be completed in the preliminary investigation project.
A book has been written about the village of Kiiku, its birth, development and present day, Lyly swings in Kiiku. The book was published in 2005 and was written by Riitta Ampuja.
Drainage and lighting. A safer and more versatile horse route. Increasing community spirit in the village.
