Eteläpohjalainen Village of the Year from 1999. Koskue is a heavily agricultural village located in the southern part of Jalasjärvi in South Ostrobothnia. There are 617 inhabitants in the village. According to tradition, Koskue got its name from the Koskutjärvi located in the middle of the village. The lake, on the other hand, got its name from the big koscus fir trees that grew on its shore. The word "koskus" means a bark plate or bark of a fir tree. Koskue is bordered in the south by the municipality of Kihniö, the city of Parkano and the municipality of Karvia, in the west by the village of Ilvesjoki, in the north by the village of Keskikylä and in the east by the village of Ylivalli. It is 42 km from Koskue to Parkano, 120 km to Tampere, 18 km to Jalasjärvi church village, 53 km to Seinäjoki.
