The village of Koura is located at the southern end of the Nurmo district of the city of Seinäjoki, from where it is 19 km to the center of Seinäjoki and 177 km to Jyväskylä. The village is crossed by highway 18 in the south-north direction and the Seinäjoki-Haapamäki railway in the east-west direction, the center of the village is at their intersection. Two rivers flow through the village, Nurmonjoki and Kourasluoma. The scenic Kivijärvi is located on the eastern side, with a bird tower and a shelter serving as a resting place for hikers. The area has been renovated into a bird lake. The settlement of the village, approx. 180 households, is spread on both sides of the rivers. There are about 300 inhabitants in the village.
