Peräseinäjoki church village

Peräseinäjoki church village is located 30 minutes from the center of Seinäjoki. The church village is beautiful, its center is the wooden church completed in 1892. Along the village road is the Ritola Hall, named after the Olympic champion Ville Ritola. Along the route is also the main part of the church village's services, Kylätalo Pokki and Terästalo, i.e. the former municipal hall, where the exhibits of the Finnish Migration Museum and, among others, are on display. Ville Ritola exhibition. The office and collection facilities of the Migration Museum are also located in the building.

Peräseinäjoki is known for the recreation and tourism area of Kalajärvi, which is located three kilometers from the center. Kalajärvi has been developed and its caravan park has been chosen three times as the best in Finland. Kalajärvi cottage village has both private and rental cottages, an excellent beach and a 150-seat restaurant. In the summer, we spin on the Kalajärvi dance stage. Kalajärvi has a park golf course, a tennis court and a nature trail with nature trails and shelters. The path has been developed into a barrier-free experiential exercise destination. There is a 22-kilometer cycling route around Kalajärvi, there are also longer hiking trails nearby, and you can practice recreational fishing on the lake.

Aisamäki summer theater with more than 400 seats operates on the shore of Lake Kalajärvi. The amateur theater Peräseinäjoki Pennihäät is profiled for producing large summer theater works and light Christmas entertainment. Maailmaan Raitti on the shore of Lake Kalajärvi tells about the living and living conditions of Finnish immigrants in different parts of the world. In Hakala's Amerika house, you can get to know the emigrant exhibits and the traditional interior of a Southern Pohja house. It is also a village hall. The barracks of the Australian sugar cutters were opened in Maailman Raiti in the summer of 2010, and the house built by Matti Unkur in Siberia in 2013. Knuuttila's house, donated from Canada, is under construction and will be completed in the spring of 2018. Maailman Raitti is open all year round.


Services, hobby opportunities and events

Peräseinäjoki has versatile services, such as a school center with high schools, a multi-service library and a health center. In the Ritola hall, you can practice indoor sports, gym and running. In addition to the hall, the Koivukaari service center can organize events. The Peräseinäjoki market is held in August. The wrestling event Mannin matsit is in January-February and the winter event in Kalajärvi is in February-March. Migration-related events include e.g. Siirtolaijhla in July, Lännen Päivä in August and Thanksgiving in November. At the Rait of the world, Easter candles are burned, which Rastas-Tiina lights with the taolas she earned in America. People also gather at Kalajärvi for the family weekend, culture week, stage dances and summer theater performances.


Residence
