The village of Peurala opens on both sides of Kyrönjoki; with its fields and riverbanks, it is part of the national landscape of southern Pohja. Deer still relies heavily on agriculture, the largest pig farms in the province are located on the "pig line" that runs through the village. The village mainly has the services of the planning area; e.g. the possibility to connect to the municipal water supply and municipal sewer. Peurala also has good transport connections with public transport both in the direction of Seinäjoki and Kurika.
The village is bordered on the one hand by Ilmajoki's downtown area Palonkylä and on the other hand by Koskenkorva. Location is both an advantage and a disadvantage; on the one hand, the church and the services of the center are also accessible to car-free villagers, on the other hand, the schools in the center are so close that there are no longer enough students for the own village school.
There are two schools important to Ilmajoki located in the village; the versatile Ostrobothnian educator Etelä-Ostrobothnia College and the agricultural teaching units of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and Koulutuskeskus Sedu, which are important for the village's livelihood, provide agricultural education.
The activity of the actively functioning Peurala village club is the rental of agricultural machinery and coffee and food dishes for agricultural and household women, run by the machinery division.
Many hobby opportunities are maintained in the village by workers. The Pururata, the Ilka hiking trail and the winter tracks on Lehti and Luomaistenkallio and Kyrönjoki delight people other than the people of your own village. In winter, a much-used snowmobile route runs along Kyrönjoki and its bank fields. In the summer, boating along the Kyrönjoki is an increasingly popular pastime. There are several docks on the riverbank that are in common use, from which it is good to board a boat or take a dip in the river for a swim. Next to the Liinaniemi bridge, in addition to the pier, there is a common barbecue place for the village, where the village association has organized e.g. shared musical moments.
On Easter Saturday, the villagers gather at the Easter whitewash to marvel at the activities of the trulli, and in summer at the barbecue house to roast sausages. The students of the Agricultural College and Etelä-Ostrobothnia College organize several events and cultural outings aimed at the whole family every year, which are widely attended by people from outside the village as well.
Peurala is a lively and peaceful rural village, whose advantage is its excellent location and good transport connections; It takes less than half an hour to get to Seinäjoki or Kurikka. The village has versatile hobby opportunities for both physical and spiritual culture enthusiasts.
The expressway through the village and the old village road running parallel to it are connected by many railway crossings. The goal is to have the necessary number of safe road crossings and junctions in the road plans for the Peurala area. Peurala village school ceased operations in the spring of 2010; the continued use of the school building in good condition, both as a preschool and as a group, now benefits all the citizens of the municipality more widely.
