The village starts less than 20 kilometers from the center of Seinäjoki in the direction of Peräseinäjoki. The village of Lehtimäki remains on the north side when you get on the road bridge crossing the railway. In the south, the village extends to the church village, the eastern neighbors are Ämmälänkylä and Ylijoki. On the western border are the village of Ojajärvi and the town of Kurika. The terrain is mainly a flat field landscape bordered by forest, there are settlements along the road through the entire village. The river runs parallel to the roads about a kilometer away. People of all ages live in the village, and there are especially many families with children in the Riskunmäki residential area.

The village operates e.g. sewing shop, Konehuolto Ja Korjaus, machine contractors and repairers, saw and planer goods service, construction shops, earthmoving and excavator contracting, Koiramäki farm, electrical installation shops, broiler farm, agricultural entrepreneurs, Lakeuden tokoilijat, taxi.
Youth club house Sovintola serves as a common meeting place and the house is a popular venue for parties.
The villagers use the school's sports hall, sports field, ice rink, lighted dog track and ski track. There are wonderful jogging and nature trails in the village, there is a Käännekallio log cabin along the trail, and it has become a popular picnic destination for families. A folk dance group and stage dance course students gather in the village. Orienteering and hunting are also practiced in the village's terrain.

The most important events are Easter whale watching, autumn dinners and outdoor events, hiking and skiing competitions, as well as events organized by the parish, associations and other parties for villagers of all ages.
The village's strengths are its location near the center of Seinäjoki (15 minutes by car), good transport connections, a suitable-sized school with a safe school road. Open plots, versatile exercise opportunities, lighted road and light traffic route. The village is a perfect place to live for families with children and nature lovers.
In 1931, Haasoja-Haasjärvi was drained by male labor into farmland on the order of cartridge Wasastjärna. In the 1960s, the ditch was dug up for flood protection and today it looks like a steep canyon in places.
