Applications for rural business and project grants for the EU funding period 2023–27 opened in June 2023. During the end of 2023, Liiver's board processed 48 applications, of which 37 received a positive funding decision. The application for small projects has been opened

The Finnish Food Agency has opened a call for small projects. Support can be obtained, for example: – For the purchase of common tools and equipment, e.g. acquiring an air heat pump, audio equipment or pacemaker for the village hall. - The support can be used to renovate common spaces or carry out small renovations. - For hiring a young person as a developer. - To carry out the study trip. - In addition, the support can be used to buy expert help, which is needed to make various reports or development plans. Register your village for the Open villages day!

Open villages day will be organized for the tenth time nationwide on Saturday, June 8, 2024! The event brings hundreds of villages into the limelight and local tourism destinations, because the day is full of the charm and life of the villages. The day offers a unique opportunity to get close to village life and the Finnish countryside. The village of the future 2.0 has started, come join us!

The opening ceremony of the future village project, open to all, was held on Valentine's Day at the Seinäjoki Business Center. The event had around 70 participants from more than thirty villages in southern Pohja. The project has three themes, which are worked on with experts in each field. In each theme, six villages or groups of villages are taken to develop and pilot new operating models. Participants are required to commit for the entire duration of the project. Liiver's office is closed on week 9

Liiver's employees are on vacation during the ski holiday week, so the office is closed from February 26 to March 3, 2024. You can reach us again on Monday 4.3. Have a sunny and relaxing week everyone!    

Ideas from study trips

With the Travel theme project implemented by Liiver, local operators were activated to renew their operations by looking for new ideas, methods of operation and a new perspective, which would have positive effects on a wider scale, e.g. services and vitality of the area. Nine associations implemented a study trip in the years 2020–2023, of which three were domestic trips and seven were foreign trips. Sanna continues to activate young people

Liiver's Noora Riippi is going on parental leave at the beginning of February, after which Sanna Pihlaja will continue in the Participating Youth 2 project and as the coordinator of the youth division. Liiver's communications will also remain on Sanna's desk. The Youth Division meets next time in February to evaluate the Youth Leader applications received by the end of January. In other words, applications just keep coming, the decision will come already in February!

The GENGREEN project supports female entrepreneurs in starting a sustainable business

The GENGREEN project focusing on green female entrepreneurship has started at the beginning of January. The goal of the project is to support a total of 50 female entrepreneurs in Southern and Central Ostrobothnia, Lapland, Norbotten, Tromsø and Finnmark. The project is implemented with the support of the Interreg Aurora program, which offers funding opportunities for cross-border cooperation in northern Europe in the area of Sweden, Finland and Norway.
