Communication instructions

This page contains information about project communication. The instructions apply to project and business subsidies funded in the years 2023–2027.
At the beginning of the page, you will find the things required by the financier, and at the end you can read tips on how to communicate.

Remember these

Your project has received funding from the EU Rural Development Fund. Say it in all communications – brochures, publications, project websites and social media accounts, interviews and appearances in the following ways:

  • Use the EU flag logo in all materials. We also recommend using the Liiveri logo.
  • Attach a poster/sign about the funding in a visible place.
  • Verbally tell about the financier. You can use the phrase "The project has received EU rural funding granted by Kehittämisyhdistys Liiveri ry."

Communication is part of the project from start to finish

  • Transparency is expected from the projects and active communication is hoped for.
  • Tell us what the project is aiming for, what will be done and what will be accomplished.

Use of logos

The EU flag logo with the text "Part-financed by the European Union" must be used in all communication materials of the project financed by the Rural Development Fund, on an equal footing with other logos.

We also recommend using the Liiveri logo.

Below you will find links to logo banks. Choose a logo according to use. PNG logos are intended for the screen, for example for social media, and PDF and EPS logos are used in printed products.

Choose the color of the logo according to the background: a dark logo for a light background and a light logo for a dark background.

Kerro rahoituksesta

Jos hankkeella on verkkosivusto tai sosiaalisen median tili, niissä on esitettävä lyhyt, tuen määrään suhteutettu kuvaus, josta käy ilmi hankkeen tavoitteet, tulokset ja EU:n rahoitusosuus. Tiedot voidaan antaa sosiaalisen median tilin esittelytekstissä tai profiilikuvauksessa.

Information poster

If the public support of your project is at least 10,000 euros, the use of a poster about the funding is mandatory.

  • Download the poster from the EAFRD image bank (link below).
  • On the poster, write the name of the project, the implementer and a short description of what is being done and what is the goal of the project.
  • Print the poster in A3 size and stick it in a visible place. The information can also be presented on an electronic screen.
  • Printing an A3-sized poster can be done cheaply, for example SeinäjokiNurmon, The squatter, Peräseinäjoki, Ilmajoki and Jalasjärvi in libraries.
  • The poster must be visible until the completion of the project, i.e. until the final payment.

Information sign for investment projects

If the public support of your project is more than 50,000 euros (machine, device, line, infrastructure or construction project), the project must be announced with an information sign.

  • Attach the sign in a visible place in connection with the investment for the duration of the project, i.e. until the final payment.
  • The information can also be presented on an electronic screen.
  • The delivery person orders the sign and it is delivered directly to you.

Tips and new ideas for communication

Project register

The project card of the Maaseuturovekost.fi website enhances the communication of the project and its search function makes it easier to find the project. You can also browse other projects and get ideas for project planning and find partners.

  • The project can use the card as its own website.
  • Add the project's contact information, possible links to websites and social media to the card, and keep them up to date.
  • Update the card as the project progresses with project activities and results.
  • The project register is convenient because after the end of the project, the materials are saved and can be used by others later on. The final report and other materials created during the project can also be attached to the project card.

Tips for using different communication channels

  • Jos hankkeella on sosiaalisen median tili, esitä siellä hankkeesta lyhyt, tuen määrään suhteutettu kuvaus, josta käy ilmi hankkeen tavoitteet, tulokset ja EU:n rahoitusosuus. Tiedot voidaan antaa sosiaalisen median tilin esittelytekstissä tai profiilikuvauksessa.
  • When the source of funding is indicated in the description of the social media account, it is sufficient, and there is no need to include the EU ID in every separate social media image or post.
  • In paid social media advertising, the use of the "part-financed by the European Union" logo is mandatory.
  • Social media allows you to reach large audiences, especially with paid marketing. Even a small amount of paid advertising increases visibility.
  • Hashtag (#) – the hashtag works as a search term. What words would you use to search for publications related to the topic online? E.g. #leader livery #Seinäjoki
  • Tag other accounts (@) in posts - tagging others increases the visibility of your post. The tagged party can share your post on their own channel. We hope to tag Liiveri in publications @leaderliiveri.
  • It's not always worth setting up your own account for a project, because gathering followers takes time. Consider whether you could communicate about the project on the implementing organization's account.

The release should be prepared and distributed before a significant event, publication or significant phase of the project. Send the announcement to the media in time and at the same time you can invite the journalist to do the story.

Five tips for preparing a press release:

  • Clear title and concise body text: The media release must contain an informative title that summarizes the news concisely. The body text should give the most important information about the project or event already in the first paragraph.
  • Structure of knowledge: The bulletin should be organized so that the most important information is first and less relevant information follows. This makes it easier for suppliers to get the necessary information quickly.
  • Clear language and style: Use simple and clear language, avoid overly complex expressions.
  • Inclusion of relevant information: Make sure the bulletin has answers to basic questions such as who, what, where, when and why. In addition, the project's background, goals and possible achievements should be included.
  • Contact: Don't forget to include contact information in the bulletin, where journalists can contact you for additional information or to arrange interviews. Contact information must be clearly displayed and include the name, phone number and email address of the responsible person.
  • The event calendar of South Ostrobothnia should also be used for the project's events. It is a free online event calendar for both users and advertisers.
  • The calendar offers a platform for the province's actors for information and marketing, as well as for the people of the province and tourists, a view of the province's abundant and versatile event offering in Finnish and English.
  • In the calendar, event information is only entered in one place, but they can appear in several different calendars on different websites, such as municipal websites.
  • You should enter basic information about the event into the calendar and direct users to their own channels to get additional information. If there are changes to the content of the event, there is no need to update the information separately in the calendar.
  • Link to the calendar.
  • Jos hankkeella on verkkosivu, esitä siellä lyhyt, tuen määrään suhteutettu kuvaus, josta käy ilmi hankkeen tavoitteet, tulokset ja EU:n rahoitusosuus.
  • The project can use the Rural Network's project register as its website. The register has the advantage that the material created during the project remains in the register and can be used by others even after the end of the project. Read more in the previous section.
