Funding available for youth projects

Young people are the creators, not the objects of creation! Liiveri grants money twice a year for young people's own projects. In 30 places in Seinäjoki, Ilmajoki and Jalasjärvi, young people have already purchased hobby equipment and organized events with the help of Youth Leader. See what others have done on the map and apply for money to implement your idea.
Light in the midst of darkness

The evenings are getting darker and yard lighting is becoming a topical issue again. Lighting, or rather the lack of it, is striking in many outdoor spaces, which affects the use of the spaces and safety as soon as dusk falls. That is why Liiveri is organizing a yard lighting evening, which illustrates the lighting options for outdoor spaces in particular for associations. Liiveri's environmental designer Reetta Yli-Hynnilä has visited dozens of associations' yard areas over the year and almost without exception, the lighting of the area has come up in discussion […]
The only rule is that there are no rules.

At first glance, one might think that the music industry and the project world have nothing in common. Although the rules cannot be changed when it comes to projects, the keys to success are otherwise the same. Three decades in music have taught Juha Koivisto a lot. Now that he has been on the board of Liiver, it is time to ask what projects could learn from rock 'n' roll? Having been involved in the music industry for a long time, it is interesting to consider, […]
Environmental art workshops are also intensifying other activities in the village

“Whenever something new is brought to the village, it also moves other activities in the area forward,” says Sirkka Pakkala in the hustle and bustle of art workshops in the Central Village of Jalasjärvi. Community environmental art has been being worked on in Harjula in the Central Village throughout August. The art workshops have brought together villagers to brainstorm ideas and challenge their skills in new ways. The workshops have involved shaping willow, turning and carving with a chainsaw, and thinking about new uses for discarded school chairs. The Meidän markki project […]
Name the islands of Kyrkösjärvi!

There are about 30 islands and islets in Lake Kyrkösjärvi – and only one of them has a name! Kyrönjoki KoskiHäjyt is building a 20-kilometer-long lake nature trail on Lake Kyrkösjärvi, so it’s time to name the islands. Here you can find an aerial view of Lake Kyrkösjärvi, with the locations of the eight sub-maps marked. Please send your name to the canoeing center’s spokesperson Anssi Orrenmaa by email at anssi.orrenmaa@nic.fi. The canoeing center, which includes four sheds and a pier as well as a lake nature trail, […]
Liiveri developing rural innovations

Rural development is centered on rural residents, their needs, views and activities. Leader activities create excellent opportunities to activate and produce new ideas specifically through the own and operational views of local residents. This activity is excellently supported by, for example, the Liiveri village project, which supports villages and their associations in development activities. The result has been excellent and very diverse new openings. My own work is related to agricultural […]
Village introductions to Liiver's website

Each village in the Liiveri region will have its own presentation page under the Liiveri website. The village pages will be created based on information compiled in paper brochures in previous years. The villages are placed on the main page on Google Maps, from which you can click on the presentation pages of individual villages. Please check the information for your own village and report any corrections, changes or additions to irma.kortesuo@liiveri.net. We also need fresh photos to liven up the pages.

The House of Functions is a pilot project for the Shared Kitchen project.

As the name suggests, a shared kitchen is a space where people can come and cook and eat. There are currently five such spaces in five localities, but by the end of 2018, the project, funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and coordinated by the Church Board, will expand to all regions. The pilot kitchen of the South Ostrobothnia regional project is currently the House of Activities in Seinäjoki. Activities that bring people together will be spread more widely throughout the region through active village activities. […]
